LCNG filling station for heavy vehicles opened near the Port

Environment and safety

Gasum opened in October an LCNG filling station in the immediate vicinity of the Port of Turku. Located along the import route, the station is especially intended for use by heavy vehicles.

The demand for clean and inexpensive road fuel gas is growing rapidly, and the increasing supply of gas-powered vehicles and the network of filling stations further improves the possibilities to switch to using road fuel gases. At present, compressed natural gas (CNG) is used as fuel in buses, passenger cars and vans.

The emissions from natural gas are lower compared to petrol and diesel. The biogas provided by Gasum is renewable and Finnish, and it is the only road traffic fuel sold in Finland that has been granted both the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the Key Flag Symbol.
