The good result was boosted by the parent company’s cost savings and growth in the turnover of the subsidiary. The investments of the Port Group totalled EUR 18.1 million. The turnover of the parent company, Port of Turku Ltd, was EUR 22.3 million, which indicated a decrease of 3.8 per cent compared to the previous year. The most important investment was the launch of an investment package for the terminal building and passenger gangways of the Ferry Terminal Turku project.

TURNOVER AND BUSINESS SURPLUS, million euro

The year for the subsidiary, Turku Free Zone Company, exceeded expectations. The turnover increased by approximately 45 per cent to a total of EUR 4.1 million. On 16 October 2025, Port of Turku Ltd exceeded its 90 per cent holding in the subsidiary and, on the same date, notified of the commencement of its rights of squeeze-out and sell-out in accordance with Chapter 18 of the Limited Liability Companies Act (Osakeyhtiölaki 624/2006) and initiated the redemption of minority shares.

Promoting investments as the priority for 2026

The Finnish economy is moving forward following a period of very slow growth. Despite the improvement in the economic situation, we will not see strong growth in the coming years due to, among other things, the instability of the international situation. Domestic consumption will begin to recover as the labour market gradually picks up and consumer confidence in the economy strengthens. The cargo and passenger volumes of the port are estimated to remain at the level of 2025. The positive expectations for cargo traffic were reinforced by the restart of German traffic at the end of 2025.

INVESTMENTS OF PORT OF TURKU LTD, million euro

The Port’s future investments are progressing as planned. Within the Ferry Terminal Turku project, the work on Pier S1 will be completed in summer 2026 and the construction of the joint terminal and the passenger gangway for Pier S1 will continue on schedule in 2026. The project management contract for the FTT yard area will also continue in 2026, and the procurement of construction work for Quay S2 will be carried out towards the end of 2026. The entire Ferry Terminal Turku project is expected to be completed in early 2028.
